Tonic Photo Studios Launches Yearlong Program to Benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance’s Mission to Alleviate Hunger Throughout Arizona
PHOENIX (Dec. 10, 2013) – Tonic Photo Studios – a local photography studio specializing in food, product, architecture and conceptual photography – announced today a 2014 partnership with St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that alleviates hunger by efficiently gathering and distributing food to the hungry in two-thirds of Arizona’s 15 counties.
“We are proud to support St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance in its mission to alleviate hunger and help those in need throughout Arizona,” said Patrick Darby, founder of Tonic Photo Studios. “The program we have developed provides an opportunity to use our specialty in creative food photography in a way that benefits a very worthy cause. We are honored to work with an organization that does so much for our community, and we look forward to a great partnership.”
As part of the partnership, Tonic Photo Studios will be hosting a gallery pop-up show featuring creative food imagery to raise awareness for the fight against hunger (proceeds will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance). The studio will serve as a drop-off location for clients to donate non-perishable food items throughout the year. In addition, all items used for food-related photo shoots will be donated to the food bank.
In January 2015, Tonic Photo Studios will present a check to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, which will include a percentage of overall proceeds from photo shoots throughout the year.
“Arizona ranks among the worst states when it comes to childhood poverty, with 2 percent of our kids not knowing where their next meal will come from,” said Beverly Damore, president and chief executive officer of St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. “Without the help of community partners like Tonic Photo Studios and their participating vendors, there is no way the World’s First Food Bank would be able to distribute nearly 70 million pounds of food annually to the hungry of our state. We are excited and happy to begin this partnership with Tonic Photo Studios.”
